Why Is Binance C2C Showing No Ads or Merchants? Common Causes Checklist

When the Binance C2C page shows no merchant listings at all, there are usually six common causes: region restrictions, insufficient KYC level, wrong coin filter, wrong payment method filter, network issues, or platform maintenance. This post walks through them in checking order, with a way to diagnose and fix each one, so you can pinpoint exactly what's blocking you in 5 minutes.

You open the C2C page on the Binance official site expecting a packed list of merchants, and today it's completely blank instead — we've run into this exact situation 4 times. The cause is different every time, but the checking order is fixed. Follow the flow below and you can pinpoint the problem within 5 minutes.

Here's the most common diagnosis up front (ordered from most to least likely):

Check order Symptom Likely cause Fix
1 Completely blank, "not available in your region" Registered region or IP triggered a region restriction Switch region setting / log in again
2 List exists but is empty Wrong coin or payment method filter Reset filter conditions
3 Shows "available after completing KYC" KYC level too low Complete identity verification
4 Partially loads, partially blank Network/CDN glitch Switch network or refresh
5 Everything shows "under maintenance" Platform maintenance announcement Wait for notice or check the announcements page
6 A specific merchant isn't showing Merchant temporarily delisted themselves Not an issue, wait for them to come back online

Below is how to diagnose and fix each of these, one by one.

Step 1: Check your region setting

This is the most common cause and also the easiest one to overlook. Binance's C2C merchant list is filtered by "your registered region / your current IP location" — if the system thinks you're not in a region covered by C2C, the list will be completely empty.

How to tell: Check your current language/region setting in the top-right corner of the Binance official app or website. If it's showing a region that doesn't support C2C, the list will be empty.

How to fix it:

  • On the web: click the flag icon in the top-right corner and switch language/region to "Chinese (Simplified)" or "Chinese (Traditional)"
  • On the app: go to "Profile" → "Settings" → "Language" → switch to Chinese
  • Also check whether the "Markets" tab is actually set to C2C mode — make sure you tapped "C2C" and not some other mode

After switching, refresh the page — under normal conditions the merchant list should show up immediately. If it still doesn't, move on to Step 2.

Step 2: Check your filter settings

The C2C page has several filters at the top: buy/sell, coin, fiat currency, payment method, amount. Any one of these being set wrong can leave the list empty.

Coin filter: The default is USDT. If you've switched to USDC, FDUSD, or similar, the number of merchants drops noticeably (USDT has by far the most merchants). Switch back to USDT to test — if the list appears, the coin filter was the problem.

Fiat filter: If you've selected a less common fiat currency like USD or HKD, there will be very few or no matching merchants. Switch back to "CNY".

Payment method filter: This should default to "All payment methods". If you've clicked "Alipay only" or "Bank card only", it filters out a large number of merchants. Click "All" to reset it.

Amount filter: If the amount you entered is too large or too small, there may be no merchant listing that exact size of order. For example, if you enter 1,000,000, under normal conditions there simply aren't merchants online offering an order that large. Try entering 1,000 instead and see if the list appears.

Fastest way to diagnose: Click the "Reset" button on the page (usually in the top-right corner of the filter area) to clear all filter conditions. If the list appears immediately, it was a filter problem.

Step 3: Check your KYC level

Binance C2C has KYC level requirements. If your account's KYC level is below "Intermediate", the C2C page may be completely inaccessible, and you'll be redirected to a "please complete identity verification first" prompt page.

How to tell: Go to "Account" → "Identification" or "Profile" and check your current KYC level.

  • Phone number registration only: KYC level 0, C2C not available
  • ID document uploaded: KYC level 1 (Intermediate), C2C available with limits
  • Facial verification + proof of address completed: KYC level 2 (Advanced), full C2C functionality

How to fix it: Go complete KYC. For the full process, see the handling ID photo rejections during KYC article, which covers the detailed photo requirements and how to resubmit.

KYC verification usually takes effect within 5-30 minutes after completion — refresh the C2C page and you should see merchants.

Step 4: Check your network

If none of the above is the issue, try troubleshooting at the network level.

Symptom: Everything else on the page is normal, but only the C2C list fails to load, or loads partially with blank gaps.

How to check:

  • Right-click the page → "Inspect" → look at the Network panel, find the C2C-related API requests, and check whether they're timing out or returning 404
  • Check whether the page is stuck spinning

How to fix it:

  • Try a different browser (switch from Chrome to Edge or Firefox)
  • Clear your browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+Delete)
  • Try opening the C2C page in an incognito/private window
  • Disable browser extensions that might be interfering (ad blockers, various VPN extensions)
  • Restart your router (home Wi-Fi occasionally glitches)

On mobile: Try opening it over 4G/5G data (turn off Wi-Fi and test), or vice versa. Carrier-level network issues occasionally block certain APIs.

Step 5: Check platform announcements

This last step is about figuring out "whether the problem is on Binance's end."

How to check: Go to the Binance announcements page (Binance official site → "Support" → "Announcement Center") and check whether there's a "system maintenance", "C2C suspended", or "regional adjustment" notice from the last 24 hours. If there is, it's a platform-side issue, not something on your end.

How to fix it: Wait. The announcement usually states an expected recovery time, so just wait it out. In this situation, everyone is seeing the same blank list — it's not unique to you.

Step 6: Merchants selectively going offline (not a bug)

Sometimes you'll see only 3 merchants in the list, far fewer than usual. This isn't a bug — merchants are simply choosing to delist themselves. Common time windows:

Time window Merchants online Reason
Weekday daytime, 9am-6pm Many Merchants are open for business as usual
Late night, 1am-5am Few Merchants are asleep
Weekend daytime Moderate Some merchants take the day off
Public holidays Few Most merchants aren't online
During sharp market volatility Very few Merchants pause orders to avoid risk
End of month / end of year Few Merchants are settling their funds

If you're just seeing fewer merchants rather than a blank page, that's not a bug. Try a different time window, or use the "limit order" feature — see the limit order approach covered in the C2C price spread article for details.

A complete diagnostic flow

Here's the standard process we use when handling this kind of issue — we recommend following it in order:

Step What to check Pass condition
1 Region/language setting is correct Chinese (Simplified) or Chinese (Traditional)
2 Filter conditions have been reset Coin = USDT, fiat = CNY, amount = blank, payment = all
3 KYC level ≥ Intermediate Shows "verified"
4 Network is working Other web pages load fine, Binance homepage works normally
5 No maintenance announcement on the platform No related notice in the Announcement Center
6 Enough merchants online at the current time Weekday 10am-6pm

If you've passed all 5 checks and still see no merchants, that's extremely rare — go ahead and contact Binance's live customer support directly with your UID and a screenshot, and their technical team can check the backend logs for you.

Differences between mobile and web

Occasionally you'll run into "the web works but the app doesn't" or vice versa. This is usually an app cache issue:

  • On iPhone, long-press the app icon to delete it (this won't delete your account), then reinstall the Binance official app
  • On Android, go to "Settings → Apps → Binance → Storage → Clear cache", then restart the app
  • If your app is an older version installed domestically, we recommend upgrading to the latest version (see app download address for details)

The app and website pull from the same data source and should display consistently under normal conditions. If you suspect it's an app-side issue, verify with the web version first — if the web version shows merchants, it's 100% an app-side issue, and reinstalling will fix it.

A special case: your account is under risk control

There's a relatively rare but serious situation: your Binance account is under risk control and C2C functionality is partially restricted. This shows up as the C2C page loading fine, but the "Buy" button next to every merchant is grayed out, or you simply can't see any merchant listings at all.

How to tell: try placing a spot trade. If spot trading also fails, there's a high chance your account is under risk control. In this case, open the app's "Message Center" — there's a good chance you'll find an "account irregularity notice" there.

How to handle it: contact customer support to confirm the reason for the risk control and submit the requested documentation. For the detailed appeal process, see the articles under the customer support appeals category.

FAQ

Q: C2C used to work fine and suddenly stopped — was I banned? A: Not necessarily. Go through the six steps above first. If everything checks out and it still doesn't work, then consider an account-level issue. A ban usually comes with a clear "account restricted" notice — it doesn't happen silently.

Q: Why can't I see C2C after using a VPN? A: A VPN changes your apparent IP location, and Binance determines your service region based on IP. If your VPN node is in a region that doesn't support C2C, the list will be empty. We recommend turning off the VPN and accessing C2C over a direct connection.

Q: Can I try registering with a different phone number? A: No. Each person is only allowed one Binance account — multiple accounts is against the rules. The problem definitely isn't with the account itself (unless it's under risk control) — go through the checking process first.

Q: I just finished KYC — why is C2C still empty? A: After KYC review is completed, it takes the system a few minutes to a few dozen minutes to sync. Wait 30 minutes and try again. If it's still not working after an hour, contact customer support.

Q: A merchant I used to see suddenly disappeared — what happened? A: The merchant delisted themselves (stopped posting orders), the merchant was delisted by the platform, you blocked the merchant, or the merchant's quota ran out. The first three don't affect your ability to see other merchants.

Q: The amount I want to buy/sell is small (under 100 yuan) — why are there no merchants? A: Merchants have a minimum order amount (usually 100-500 yuan). If the amount you enter is below that, very few or no merchants will qualify. Try entering 500 yuan instead.

Q: Can customer support "activate" C2C for me? A: There's no "activation" needed — C2C is a standard feature of every Binance account. If someone claiming to be customer support says you need to "pay to activate" it, that's a scammer (you haven't reached real support). Real Binance customer support is accessed through the "Live Chat" entry in the bottom-right corner of the Binance official site.

Q: Why do the web C2C data and app C2C data sometimes differ? A: There's occasionally a sync delay of a few seconds, after which they'll match. If the discrepancy lasts more than 1 minute, that's a bug — just refresh and it'll resolve.

90% of "no merchants showing" issues come down to filters not being reset. If you run into this, the first thing to try is clicking "Reset filters" — that alone solves most cases. For everything else, follow the process above and you should be sorted within 5 minutes.
