Installing the Official Binance App on Android via APK: From Download to First Login

The most reliable way for Android users to install the Binance App is sideloading the APK directly. Google Play isn't reachable in a lot of scenarios, so a direct APK install gets it done in one go. This walkthrough covers the full process we recently tested hands-on on a Samsung Galaxy S23.

Where to Download the APK

The only genuinely official source is the "Download" menu in the top-right corner of the Binance website → Android. Absolutely do not download from any of the following:

• Third-party app stores that turn up when you search "Binance" (many are counterfeit packages)
• APK files forwarded in QQ groups, Telegram groups, or Discord servers
• Sponsored links that show up when you search "Binance APK" on a search engine
• The built-in "market" bundled with old emulators like NoxPlayer

The official APK package name is com.binance.dev, and the file size is around 85MB. Any package name other than that is fake.

Step-by-Step (Samsung One UI 6)

Step 1: Download From the Official Site

Open the Binance Official Site, click "Download" in the top-right corner → "Android," then click "Download Now." The file downloads to your Download folder with a name like Binance_v2.84.5.apk.

Step 2: Handle the "Potential Risk" Warning

Your browser (whether it's Chrome or the built-in Samsung browser) will pop up something like:

This type of file can harm your device. Do you want to keep it anyway?

Tap "Keep."

Step 3: Open the APK and Allow Unknown Sources

Go into your Download folder and tap the APK. You'll get a prompt like:

For security, your phone is set to block installation of unknown apps from this source.

Tap "Settings" → find your browser in the list (e.g., Samsung Internet) → turn on "Allow from this source" → go back.

Step 4: Install

Back on the install screen, tap "Install." It takes about 15 seconds, and the Binance icon will appear on your home screen.

Step 5: Turn Off "Allow Unknown Sources" Again

Once it's installed, go back to settings and turn that toggle back off. This is the key step for reducing risk afterward — leave it on, and any APK can be installed going forward.

Permissions Requested on First Launch

Open the Binance App, and you'll get a series of permission prompts:

Location	No	The app doesn't need this — safe to deny

Always deny location and contacts. The official Binance App doesn't need either of those permissions — only a counterfeit version would ask for them.

Logging Into Your Account

If you already registered on the web:

1. Tap "Log In"
2. Enter your email and password
3. Enter the 6-digit code sent to your email
4. Enter the 2FA code from Google Authenticator
5. You'll land on the home screen

Verifying You Installed the Real App

Once it's installed, run through this checklist:

• Go to "Me → Settings → About" — the developer should read "Binance Holdings Limited"
• Check the package name (under your system's app management screen) — it should be com.binance.dev
• Open the app — the first tab in the bottom-left should be "Markets," not "Earn"
• Real trading pairs like BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT are listed

If any single one of these doesn't match, uninstall immediately and re-download from the official site.

Updating the App

The Binance App won't auto-update through an app store (since it isn't installed via Google Play). You'll need to:

• Check the version number on the official site periodically
• Download the newer APK when a new version comes out and install over the existing app (your data stays intact)
• Or tap "Check for Updates" inside the app, which will point you back to the official site

We recommend checking manually once a month; major versions (especially ones with security fixes) get announced on the announcements page.

Don't Install These "Companion Tools"

A lot of tutorials recommend things like:

• "Binance price alert plugins"
• "Binance trade history exporters"
• "Binance one-click arbitrage assistants"

All third-party tools carry risk, and the most common scam is getting you to authorize an API key and then disappearing with your funds. The official Binance App already includes:

• Price alerts (top-right corner of the chart page)
• Trade history export (Assets page → "Account Statement")
• Multi-account switching (Settings → Account Management)

You don't need any third-party tool for any of this.

How iPhone Users Install It

iPhone can't sideload an APK — you have to go through the App Store. But the App Store's mainland China region doesn't show Binance in search results, so you need to switch to a Hong Kong or U.S. Apple ID. See switching regions to install Binance on iPhone (coming soon).
