Cashing Out USDT From Binance to RMB: The Full C2C Sell Process
We sold 5,000 USDT and cashed it out to a bank card this time. Here's our hands-on record of every step — picking a buyer, setting up the ad, releasing the coins, receiving payment, and finally seeing it land in the bank.
Binance doesn't have a direct "withdraw to bank card" option — you have to go through C2C selling, selling your USDT to a buyer who then sends the money straight to your bank card. This note records our full process from this time, selling 5,000 USDT.
If you've just opened an account and haven't bought crypto yet, start with the full account-opening process.
Selling vs Buying: Which Carries More Risk
Intuitively: selling is someone else paying you money, so it should be risk-free. In reality: selling carries much more risk than buying.
Here's why:
- You release the coins first, and the other party pays you afterward
- If they pay you with dirty money, your bank card has a chance of getting frozen
- Once frozen, not only do you not get the money, you also have to spend time unfreezing it
So we're far more strict about screening buyers than we would be about screening sellers.
Indicators for Picking a Buyer
After using this more than once, here's what we've settled on:
| Indicator | Threshold | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Completed orders | > 1,000 | The more, the more reliable |
| Positive rating | > 99% | Below 99% is usually a new account or one with disputes |
| Average coin-release time | < 5 minutes | Slow release may mean they're going through risk-control review |
| Days registered | > 90 days | Older accounts are more trustworthy than new ones |
| Merchant-verified | Yes | A merchant that's been verified is safer |
This time we picked a buyer with over 8,000 completed orders, a 99.6% positive rating, merchant verification, and 2 years of registration history.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Step 1: Pick a Payment Method
The C2C listings can be filtered by "Alipay/WeChat/bank card." Important: picking "bank card" is safer than "Alipay." Here's why:
- Bank transfers leave a full record, so if you get frozen, it can be traced
- Alipay has daily large-amount limits, and a transfer could get stuck halfway
- A bank's risk-control rules are more predictable than Alipay's
This time we only accepted transfers from "ICBC / China Merchants Bank / China Construction Bank" (rejecting all others), to lower the odds of the buyer using dirty money.
Step 2: Transfer the USDT to the Funding Wallet First
C2C selling can only draw from the Funding wallet — USDT sitting in the Spot wallet has to be transferred first:
- "Wallet → Transfer"
- From → Spot wallet
- To → Funding wallet
- Enter the amount (5,000 USDT this time)
- Confirm
The transfer is instant and 0 fee.
Step 3: Post the Sell Order
- In the App, go to "Buy Crypto → C2C → Sell"
- Select USDT, CNY, bank card
- Enter the quantity, 5,000
- You'll see a list of buyers — screen them using the indicators above
- Click the "Sell" button
Important: once the order is placed, the other party has 15 minutes to complete payment. If they haven't paid within 15 minutes, you can cancel the order — the coins won't be deducted, and they go back to your Funding wallet.
Step 4: Wait for Payment
Once the buyer pays, they'll click "I've Paid." At this point, don't release the coins right away — confirm first that the money has actually landed in your bank account.
Here's how it actually went for us this time:
- 3 minutes after placing the order, the buyer clicked "I've Paid"
- We checked our bank app (not Alipay, not WeChat) to see if the transfer had shown up in the statement
- At the 8-minute mark, the bank sent an SMS confirming the deposit
- At the 9-minute mark, after confirming the amount and reference matched, we clicked "Release"
Step 5: Release the Coins
Go into the chat window and click the "Release" button. The system will ask you to enter:
- Your funds password (not your login password)
- Your Google Authenticator 6-digit code
Releasing is instant — the other party's account receives the USDT immediately.
Step 6: Confirm the Amount Received
One final check:
- Bank card balance: up by 36,500 yuan (5,000 USDT × 7.30 yuan = 36,500, using the contract price Binance's system displayed)
- Payer name: make sure it's a personal name, not a company name — a company name is often a sign of an impersonated transfer
- Reference/memo: usually a string of digits or a neutral word like "payment"
Scenarios Where Things Go Wrong
The Buyer Says They Paid but You Haven't Received It
Stay calm first:
- Wait 30 minutes (some interbank transfers are delayed)
- If it still hasn't arrived, ask the buyer for a payment screenshot
- Check the screenshot against: payer's name, payment time, transfer amount
- If the screenshot doesn't match up — go straight to clicking "Appeal" and let Binance support step in. Do not release the coins
The Buyer Only Paid Part of It
Rare, but it happens: the buyer says "I'll pay half now, the rest later." Don't trust this — appeal immediately.
The Buyer Paid the Wrong Amount
If it's less: appeal. If it's more: send the extra amount back the proper way (don't transfer it directly to the buyer's account — let Binance support coordinate it).
How Soon Can You Use the Money After Selling
Once the funds land in your bank card, you can use it the same day. But there are a few things to watch out for:
- Large amounts (a single transfer over 50,000 yuan): some banks will run a "risk-control verification," and you may get a call from customer service within 5-30 minutes
- Payroll cards: don't immediately make a large purchase — give the bank's system some buffer time to avoid a false flag
- Interbank transfers: after the funds land, transferring them out again may require the bank to make you wait 24 hours
How the Timing Broke Down This Time
Here's the full timing record for selling 5,000 USDT this time:
| Step | Time Taken |
|---|---|
| Transfer USDT from Spot to Funding | Instant |
| Pick a buyer, place the order | 4 minutes |
| Wait for the buyer to pay | 3 minutes |
| Wait for the bank deposit | 5 minutes |
| Confirm and release the coins | 1 minute |
| Total | 13 minutes |
After that, the buyer could move the USDT right away, and on our end, the money in the bank card was already usable too.
What If You're Selling More
5,000 USDT counts as a small amount. If you want to sell 50,000 USDT or more in one go:
- Don't place it as a single order — split it into 3-5 orders
- Don't use the same buyer — spread it across different buyers
- Don't receive it all into the same bank card — use at least two different cards
- Leave at least an hour between each transaction
