Binance Withdrawal Stuck in Pending Review Over 24 Hours: What to Do

A Binance withdrawal stuck in Pending Review for over 24 hours is usually caused by a large-amount risk-control trigger, insufficient KYC tier, an IP/device mismatch, or bank-side anti-money-laundering review. This article breaks down each cause with expected processing times.

Most Binance withdrawals land in 5-30 minutes, but a small number get stuck in "Pending Review" status for more than 24 hours. To answer the headline directly: first open your order detail page and check exactly which step it's stuck on — "KYC re-check," "risk-control review," "bank AML," or "manual verification" each has a different fix. We at BabianLab, along with people in our circle, have run into this 9 times ourselves. Depending on the cause, the average processing time ranges from 3 hours to 5 days.

If your withdrawal has been stuck for over a day, first open the Binance Official Site → Wallet → Withdrawal History → click the relevant order and check the "Status Details" field. This article gives targeted solutions for 5 categories of causes.

Step 1: Check the exact order status

"Pending Review" isn't the only Binance withdrawal status — the table below lists 6 common statuses and what they mean.

Status Meaning Is being stuck for 24 hours normal?
Email Sent Withdrawal initiated, waiting on email confirmation ✗ Abnormal (should be instant)
Awaiting Approval Waiting on internal approval △ Sometimes
Processing System is processing ✗ Abnormal (should be < 30 minutes)
Pending Review Risk-control/KYC/compliance review △ Sometimes
Completed Done /
Cancelled Cancelled /

"Pending Review" and "Awaiting Approval" can reasonably stay stuck for over 24 hours, but being stuck this long in almost any other status is abnormal.

Step 2: Figure out which cause applies

There are 5 specific sub-causes behind a Binance "Pending Review." Clicking into the order detail page usually shows extra notes (sometimes it doesn't, and you'll need to contact support).

Cause Typical scenario Average processing time
Insufficient KYC tier Withdrawal amount exceeds the limit for your current KYC tier 2-7 days
Risk-control flag Multiple withdrawals in a short time / large amount 24-72 hours
IP/device mismatch Sudden IP change or new device at time of withdrawal 6-24 hours
Bank-side AML (fiat only) Bank reviewing the receiving account 1-5 business days
Random manual sampling Platform proactively spot-checks the order 2-12 hours

Cause 1: Insufficient KYC tier

The most common cause. Every Binance KYC tier has a daily withdrawal limit:

KYC tier Daily withdrawal limit Monthly limit
Unverified 0 0
Verified Equivalent of 50,000 USDT Unlimited
Verified Plus Equivalent of 200,000 USDT Unlimited
Country-specific Depends on local regulations Depends on local regulations

If your withdrawal amount is close to or exceeds your current tier's daily limit, it will sit in review while the system does a manual check, and release once confirmed.

How to fix it

Method 1: Wait it out

It usually clears automatically within 24-72 hours. If it's still stuck after 72 hours, open a ticket to follow up.

Method 2: Upgrade your KYC tier

If you regularly need large withdrawals, it's worth upgrading to Verified Plus. See Do you need Verified Plus.

Method 3: Split the withdrawal

If you don't want to wait, split one large withdrawal into several smaller ones. Each one within the limit usually arrives in under 30 minutes.

Cause 2: Risk-control flag

Binance's risk-control system weighs several factors when judging something as abnormal:

  • Multiple withdrawals within 24 hours (more than 5)
  • Large withdrawal amount (over 50,000 USDT)
  • Withdrawals to several new addresses
  • A sudden burst of account activity in a short time
  • Withdrawal address is on a blacklist

How to fix it

Wait for the risk-control review to finish. From our own testing:

  • Ordinary trigger: clears automatically in 6-24 hours
  • Moderately suspicious: 24-72 hours (may require additional documentation)
  • Highly suspicious: may be rejected outright and funds frozen → follow the withdrawal risk-control restriction process

When you follow up with a ticket, include the withdrawal TXID and order number.

Cause 3: IP/device mismatch

Binance compares the IP at the time of withdrawal against your "usual IP." If you:

  • Suddenly switch VPN nodes (China → US → Japan)
  • Use a device you haven't used before
  • Have an IP that jumps in a physically implausible way (impossible location shift within seconds)

it will trigger an IP-mismatch risk-control flag.

How to fix it

Wait for the anomaly to be manually reviewed. Usually 6-24 hours.

Prevention:

  • Log in to your account 2-3 hours before withdrawing so the system recognizes your current IP/device
  • Don't withdraw right after connecting to a VPN in a new region
  • Don't switch VPN nodes while withdrawing

Cause 4: Bank-side anti-money-laundering review (fiat withdrawals)

If you're withdrawing fiat like USD/EUR/HKD to a bank card, both Binance and the bank review the transaction. Bank-side review may involve:

  • Asking about the background of the transaction
  • Requesting proof of the source of funds
  • Requesting extra information about the receiving account

In this case, Binance's side may have already released the funds, but the bank's side is still reviewing. The order status will show "Sent to Bank" or "Awaiting Bank Confirmation."

How to fix it

Contact your bank's customer service and ask:

  1. Whether they received a transfer request from Binance
  2. Whether it was flagged as a suspicious transaction
  3. Whether additional documentation is needed

Bank-side AML review usually takes 1-5 business days. Mainland Chinese banks are especially strict about crypto-related deposits — see withdrawing foreign currency to a Hong Kong bank.

Cause 5: Random manual sampling

Binance randomly spot-checks a small number of withdrawals for manual verification. This is completely normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong with your account.

How to fix it

Just wait. Usually 2-12 hours.

If it's still not cleared after 24 hours, you can open a ticket to ask, though support will typically just say "it's under review, please be patient."

How to figure out which cause it is

If the order detail page doesn't say clearly, you can use a process of elimination:

Check Your situation Likely cause
Was this your first large withdrawal of the day? Yes Risk control + random sampling
Have you switched VPNs recently? Yes IP mismatch
Is the withdrawal amount close to your KYC limit? Yes KYC tier
Is it fiat going to a bank? Yes Bank AML
Is it a newly added withdrawal address? Yes Risk control

When you open a ticket, list everything that might be relevant. Let support see the full picture at once instead of going back and forth.

How to write a support ticket

If it's been stuck for over 24 hours, open a ticket to follow up. Use a professional format so support can process it quickly.

You can see more detail in the app

Open the Official Binance App → Wallet → Withdrawal Orders:

  • Tapping into an order shows a "timeline" (the exact time of each status)
  • The step it's stuck on is highlighted in red
  • Some orders have a "Contact Support" button that opens a ticket directly

The status descriptions in the app are more detailed than on the web version.

When you should cancel an order

A Binance withdrawal can be cancelled while it's in "Email Sent" or "Awaiting Approval" status. But "Processing" and "Pending Review" cannot be cancelled.

If your order is stuck at "Email Sent" (you never received the confirmation email), the usual causes are:

  • The email got blocked → check your spam folder
  • Your mail filter rules are catching it → whitelist Binance
  • Email delivery delay → wait 30 minutes

If it still hasn't arrived after 30 minutes, cancelling the order and withdrawing again is faster than waiting.

Can you withdraw again while one is stuck in review

Yes. A withdrawal stuck in review doesn't block you from initiating a new one. But:

  • The new withdrawal may also get flagged (risk-control signals stack up)
  • The new withdrawal counts against your daily limit (even if the first one hasn't gone through yet)

Recommendation: unless it's genuinely urgent, don't initiate a new withdrawal until the first one is resolved.

How to fix recurring withdrawal review delays

If you repeatedly run into withdrawals stuck in review, the cause is usually one of the following:

Symptom Cause Fix
Every large withdrawal gets stuck Insufficient KYC tier Upgrade to Verified Plus
IP mismatches happen often Frequent VPN switching Stick to a fixed VPN node
Fiat withdrawals are always slow Bank always reviews them Switch to a more crypto-friendly bank
New addresses always get reviewed Whitelist not enabled Enable the withdrawal whitelist

Enabling a withdrawal whitelist is the single best way to cut down on delays. See setting up a withdrawal whitelist.

FAQ

Q: Will my funds be deducted while under review? A: No. While under review, the funds are still in your account, just frozen — nothing has left your account yet. If the review passes, the funds go out; if it fails, they're returned to your Spot account.

Q: Will the withdrawal fee be refunded if review fails? A: If the review fails completely and the funds never went out, the Binance network fee will be refunded. But if Binance already broadcast the transaction on-chain, it may not be refunded (it depends on the specific case — confirm with a support ticket).

Q: How do I avoid getting stuck next time? A: 1. Log in 2 hours before withdrawing so your IP/device looks stable → 2. Enable a withdrawal whitelist → 3. Test with a small amount before a large one → 4. Upgrade to Verified Plus → 5. Don't make your first large withdrawal from a brand-new device.

Q: Will risk-control review require in-person verification? A: Very rarely. It usually just asks for additional ID proof, proof of source of funds, or a live video selfie check. It won't require an in-person counter visit.

Q: Is withdrawing faster during the day or at night? A: About the same. Binance risk control runs 24/7 with both automated systems and staff spread across time zones. Large withdrawals late at night may be slightly slower (fewer reviewers on duty), but the difference is under an hour.

Q: Can I ask support to "prioritize" my order? A: You can ask, but the effect is limited. Support can only mark your order as "needs attention" — they can't skip the review process. What matters most is clearly explaining the urgency in your ticket.

Q: Can I contact the issuer directly while my withdrawal is under review? A: The issuer is Binance itself. Support is the only channel available.

Q: Will an order under review still get frozen by risk control? A: Being under review already means the funds are frozen. If the review result is "rejected," those funds may go into a deeper risk-control review.

Q: When does the daily limit reset? A: Every day at 0:00 UTC (8:00 AM Beijing time). If your withdrawal got stuck the previous day, withdrawing again after 8 AM the next day is usually allowed (though it may still go through review).

Q: Does transferring USDT from another exchange to Binance before withdrawing reduce the chance of getting stuck in review? A: Not necessarily. Binance weighs multiple factors together. That said, the clearer the source of funds, the better — USDT coming from a compliant exchange is less likely to trigger risk control than USDT coming from an anonymous wallet.
